Info Post

What's the difference between "imminent" and "eminent"?

Imminent - means something that is going to happen soon

For example: The newscaster said that the typhoon is imminent; hence, people living on shorelines are asked to evacuate.

Eminent - means well-known and successful

For example: An eminent businessman was shot dead last night.
