What is the difference between affect and effect?

Affect - is a verb that means to produce an effect upon.

For example: Your ability to communicate clearly will affect your income.

Effect - is a noun that means a change that results when something is done or happens.

For example: The effect of poor grammar on a person's income is well documented.
